Another from my archive of my pre-digital travels. Neuschwanstein Castle in the Bavarian Alps of southern Germany was the inspiration for Walt Disney's famous Disneyland Castle. Built by the eccentric King Ludwig ii, construction began in 1869. The castle was still unfinished in 1886 when the King, previously declared insane, drowned in unexplained circumstances.
