The fleamarket of Amsterdam on the Waterlooplein (means Waterloosquare), here just aside of the townhall, is really the heart of a region with many attractive opportunities to visit. Very nearby you find: Artis Zoo, the botanical garden, Jewish museum, museum Hermitage, diamond-expositions in old factories, Rembrandthouse, the townhall and the Music-theather for oper, clasical music and dance. All just five or ten minutes walking from the fleamarket. The market is closed on sunday!

Central Station Amsterdam is the most important station for visiting the center of the city. It is five minutes walking to Dam square for instance. You can take here all 3 metro's and many trams. Because of the new metro-constructions the whole place is digged up for a couple of years (till 2011) around C.S. station, and so it is a little uncomfortable to find your way here.

Walking along river Amstel through Amsterdam you have a beautiful trip in the city. You can walk or bike to the outskirts of Amsterdam, just by following the river on the left or right side. The nice village on the Amstel 'Ouderkerk aan de Amstel' is from Waterlooplein (flea-market) 40 minutes on bike.
