Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King (6 photos) by Andy O'Hare (andyohare)

My home city of Liverpool has two cathedrals, one Catholic and one Protestant. They were both built in the 20th century but in very different styles. This is the Catholic, also known as Metropolitan, cathedral designed by Sir Frederic Gibberd and consecrated in 1967.
It's a bold design, disliked by those who oppose 'modern' architecture, but I think it's wonderful.
