Photographer's Note

Such lights seem to convert the river into a magical stream whose mystical power emanates from its meandering path. Its undulations are said to evoke the benevolence of Naja, a seven headed, protective snake, who sheltered the meditating Lord Buddha from the storm. Skeptics will surely smile whilst listening to these legends. But that would discount the attachment and devotion to these allegorical tales which demand respect when the harmony of Luang Prabang is observed. The city seems indeed to breathe under a protective soul.
