Photographer's Note

After finding a good spot to pitch our tent in a valley near the base of Jambeyang, my friend and I returned to the so-called Milk Lake, from which there are spectacular views of all three of Yading's sacred peaks, as well as other mountains and the lake itself. It really is an incredible place, where the summits of Jambeyang and Chenresig seem only to be about 300 or 400m away, while that of Chanadorje is somewhere in the region of 1.5 to 2 km distant.

This was taken at around 19:50, just as the Sun was about to set, and some of the last rays are visible in the orange spots directly ahead. Although none of the major peaks are visible in this photograph, some others are, and we can see the edge of Chanadorje in the extreme left part of the photo, while some of Jambeyang, and its impressive glaciers, is visible on the right.
