Photographer's Note
First picture on a short romantic theme, I must be getting soft.
Being together has to start somewhere sometime. Take your chosen one down to the river and find a sheltered spot to sit down on at the foot of something beautiful when the warmth of the sun is returning and the birds start to sing. If you follow that concept nothing can go wrong.
A good and classical place and time must be at the bank of La Seine in spring. I found this young couple with eyes for nothing but themselves at the foot of Pont Neuf. I don΄t know if he or she or destiny led them there but so far they are going by the book.
Let us wish them luck on their first step!

Very nice. I like all the sharpness of this image and the vertical against horizontal lines (trees and stone wall, but mostly how you could capture those two people in a sort of intimate conversation.
How about removing the bottom part (water) to place these two people less centered on the horizontal axis.

Good shot you old romantic. Finding this couple directly under the lamp and between two trees made sure you had an ideal composition. Lots of nice patterns and repetition in the shot.

it is so beautiful and detailed that several crops would bring out several good pictures I think...I loved numeric details too :) 1(lamp), 2(of them), 3(trees), infitiny (stones and water)...really lots to see here...thanks..

Yes it looks like they are on track. Go ahead with the soft thing. You have some very beatiful light in these Paris pics, very well captured.
My memories of the seine quays are more of garbage and dogshit, I guess that gives a different perspective on the wish for luck on their first step.

A wonderful and ingenious capture, Ebbe. A perfect composition - the water, the quay, the wall - horizontals. The trees - verticals/symmetric. And all the "action" on the left half - the young couple, the stairs, the lamp, the two mooring rings. Nice soft colors - very Pari' - and perfect sharpness - and also good timing! And the note...
...really brings back memories! And not bad ones, like Torben's. Somewhere in these neighborhoods I spent my second night (after a night in a cheap hotel) in Paris, in 1965; we slept in an abandoned Citroλn, a German friend and I. Then we moved up to a demolition house in the Latin Quarters near Sorbonne. The days were spent at Square du Vert Galant on Ξle de la Citι or at a small cafι in Rue de la Huchette. It lasted two weeks...
"Those were the days, my friend, we thought they'd never end..." Yeah, let's wish them luck!!

This is a great shot. The scale is well-conveyed her with the inclusion of the human subjects. Framing them against the wall is wonderful as it make them stand out. Beautiful total effect.

Nice daily life image. I like the way the lamp at the top and the stairs in the bottom help to put the weight of the image in the lovers. My eyes can't get out of them.
I agree with the WS that cutted the bottom, and I think the colors of the couple could be just a bit saturated to highlight them against the almost BW surroundings.

Beautiful composition and note. You captured a nice moment on a romantic spot. The trees, wall stones, stairs and the water all add to a good background for the couple. I just wish the women would have a bit more feminine figure.

Excellent composition. Wonderful choice of the greyish / dull contrast against the colourful clothes. The black lamp and the white seats above and below the couple is another nice match.
The body language of the couple says so much. A beautiful photo, Ebbe. :-)
