Photographer's Note
It was shot in a monastery in Dalat. I first visited there to take pictures for an architectural magazine, its mystical interior brought me back again, with my friend, who was the subject in frame.

Your yesterday picture and today posting made me think about the work of a friend of mine, Hoΰng Thế Nhiệm. I do not try to make the comparison between you both because I am not qualified to do so, but somewhat I found the similarity in the ways you approached the scene or played with light. Still too soon to tell, but just a feeling.
This one is wonderful. Let's see your next contribution.

Thanh

Hi!
I'm glad to see this picture here! As I told you in my critique on your yesterday post, the "Heaven light" series is great!
I like the image a lot, you succedeed in conveying a magical atmosphere. The light and shadows are perfectly managed. Once again, congratulations!
P.S. Thanks for adding some information in the note! It's useful!

Hi Hoang, this is a breathtaking image. The light is of course magnificent but you have not taken chances with the composition. The girl is placed on the intersection of thirds and you have ensured the light is on the diagonal. The exposure is perfect, capturing all the beauty of the light while retaining shadow detail. Excellent. Stephen

Don't know how did you get such a strong light beam. Wonderful sharpness. Positioning of the woman looks a bit artificial though. I would have liked a more dynmaic figure.

Lovely sunbeams - this could have been taken in an English church!
Could you give me the name of this monastery? I will visit Dalat in January next year and would like to see this place.
Thanks
Brian

Hi HLL
absolutly beautiful shot of the woman and the church.
The play of light across the photo and onto the woman is beautiful. But its the deep shadows that i like the best.
(side note) I discovered your photo because i happened to log on to TE while at a computer cafe here in HCMC and when i typed up the page it opened with your account still open. You really should be more careful about logging off so that someone doesnt spoil your work.

The way you control the light is excellent. I particularly like your placement of the girl in the light, very dramatic.

Hi LyLong,
Yor photos are excellent. I never thought Vietnam is so amazing.
I particularly like the way you control the light. In this picture the placement of the girl makes the difference - it's like the divine light comes straight to her.
Good job!
Cheers,
Adrian
