Photographer's Note
Kogi Indians in the Nevado de Santa Marta.
I liked the idea (photographically speaking) of them being behind the barbed wire, with those unhappy looking faces.
Actually they have much more freedom than this photo conveys, and the land they live in is a beautiful natural setting.
I actually found the situation of the Kogi Indians much better than any other Native tribe I had seen before (although definately not ideal!)
You can recognize the male children who have a bag and the female kids because they have the necklaces.

Hi Oshry,
it looks like you've visited the place i have heard about, read about and wish to visit maybe even next year...the barb wire suggests isolation and unjustice...the faces are sad an indifferent...i have heard that the Kogi have accepted only one thing free willingly from the "western" world...the accordion...i wonder if you've seen anybody playing it...cheers, arturo
