Photographer's Note
As much as I dream about faraway travel, the idea of learning about the world and photographing it for fun became a part of my lifestyle and I always enjoy making local trips as well to learn more about the region where I currently live. In that respect I am lucky I have moved around a lot. People have various limitations: health, money, time. I suppose in the local trips in the UK the main limit is the weather, ha, ha, and now a lockdown as well but let's hope it is temporary. In the more distant trips for me both money and time were always an issue. I dream sometimes about having more time in those destinations which I am already visiting. But too often I have a choice: either be there shortly and superficially or not at all. Sachsen Region probably does not appear as very exotic to Polish people because it is so close to Poland but for me it was actually quite a challenging trip. I have also a sentiment to Germany for many reasons. I really enjoyed my trip to Dresden and I regretted not having enough time for example to better explore other areas of Sachsen. I am so happy though that I managed to do so much this year, taking into account the difficult times of pandemic.
The Pillnitz Castle consists of three separate palaces. The main building, which you see in this picture is known as the Upper Palace (Bergpalais), built between 1722 and 1723. The most popular on TrekEarth is probably the Riverside Palace (Wasserpalais), built between 1720 and 1721. It is more often photographed since it is located immediately next to the river and it has elegant steps leading down to the river. These two palaces are complemented on the east side by the New Palace (Neues Palais), built in Neoclassical style between 1819 and 1826.

Oh yes, this is the place where a king gave a castle as a gift to some of his mistresses. But this king hasn't lived in as many different countries as you.
Magnificent flower beds in the beautifully landscaped garden.
They gave you the opportunity to create a beautiful composition.

Miasto i okolica nieatpliwie warta odwiedzenia , a palac nawet od "mojej" strony, zeby zorganizowac dojazd. Musze sie kiedys na troche dluzej tam wybrac, tylko pora roku jeszcze wskazana odpowiednia - chociazby jak na zdjeciu gdy mozna podziwiac kwitnace rosliny.
Dobry kadr, ciekawa prezentacja tego miejsca

Hello Mariusz,
Sometimes, or maybe often, visits are short but when you take photographs, you can later linger over them and seemingly extend the trip! I remember places so much more clearly since I have been photographing them!
This is a fine, carefully planned composition.
The flowerbeds are important, f/g features, setting the style and the mood and a perfect introduction to the tall fountain and the sumptuous looking castle.
The exposure is good, giving fine details and well saturated colours.
