Photographer's Note
The Notre-Dame church of the late 11th century was rebuilt in the 17th century after the Wars of Religion. It has retained many characters of local Romanesque architecture
It housed the council in which the marriage of King Louis VII of France to Eleanor of Aquitaine was declared void. She then married the future king of England Henri Plantagenκt. The church became a parish during the Revolution.

Salut Didi,on n'a pas perdu les contacts merci a facebook mais c'est joli te retrouver ici aussi. Une belle carte postale qui montre cette eglise que je ne connassais pas dans une qualite' parfaite,bien l'ambience d'hiver sans feuilles sur les arbres qui ouvre la vue. Belle soiree' et merci,Luciano

Bonjour Didi,
A fascinating note about this church which has, as you say, borne witness to some quite remarkable mediaeval historic events.
And here the tall tower of the church with its short spire stands boldly above the height of the surrounding buildings behind a delicate screen of trees still bare from winter and beautifully portrayed against a deep blue sky.

The parked cars in front of the church provide scale. The bell tower is quite tall and solid. Good sharpness and wide angled view. Tfs!
