Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

Anyone who has been following my recent photographs, will know that I have been photographing in a small village called Ripley.

I have shown you the buildings but this vehicle was most unexpected. It said on the side 'Harrogate Gin'.
Well that was worth investigating!
Although the distillery was closed when we were exploring, I found this interesting information on the Internet.

Steve and Sally lived in Harrogate. They both enjoy a tipple or two, so it seemed like a good idea for them to mix business with pleasure, especially when they found what they thought would be the perfect building in the centre of Harrogate - an old smokehouse (built in 1899), in need of a little tender loving care.
And so it started ... the idea for the Distillery was born as the makers of Premium Harrogate Tipples.

Soon the smokehouse was no longer big enough for the expanding business so Harrogate Tipple relocated to the Ripley Castle Estate where they not only created a distillery in the grounds – but they also have a Gin School, set within the Castle itself. A success story all the way!

This vintage vehicle, which we saw parked outside the distillery, is great for advertising the company and is aptly named Tipple Truck!

I loved that the truck appeared to looking in a mirror.

I wondered what the photograph might look like in black and white, which I will post as a workshop, but liked this one better, in the end.

Have a lovely day, Bev :-)
