Photographer's Note
This is the ancient iconical waterfront of Chikan village, close to Kaiping. The architecture is from the Qing dynasty.
Behind the waterfront houses, one of the Diaolou (towers) can be seen. Most towers have a strange mixture of Chinese and Western or Arabic architecture. The new architectural ideas were brought back by oversees Chinese returning home early 20th century.

Hi Tonny
Dit is een plek die ik niet ken. Het grote huis in de achtergrond doet me aan die bizarre diaolou denken. Mooie rij met parasols ervoor. Als dat allemaal terrasjes zijn...het ziet er gezellig uit.
