Photographer's Note
From one of the most beautiful parts of South Africa. The hill middle left and those in the background are capped by volcanics that flowed out 183 million years ago onto the sand desert that covered all of southern Africa at the time. The horizontal strata below the volcanic rocks are remnants of that desert.

Hi Neels. Impressive panorama, a reminder of how vast the continent is and how varied with its ancient geological past and human history as well. Love the colours and the alluring shapes in the distance. Regards. Klaudio.

Hello Neels,
What a long time ago that I saw a picture of your on TE.
But what a nice desert picture with a lovely landscape, incredible for a man of the countryside, here can you this not find!
The nature cares for a real painting.
An excellent composition, lovely presentation too.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John.

Hello Neels,
Captured the desert scene from an effective point, high above the trough, to let us see the wonderful contour-lines of those volcanic hills and the river flow between, a trail alongside. Soil colors are am attractive sight here.
Best regards,
Ike

Neels,
Beautiful composition indeed. To me, South Africa is one of the most beautiful countries in the planet. The variety and uniqueness of its nature makes it even more special

Hi Neels!
It's surely a very beautiful landcape, maybe not easy to leave there but it's a very beautiful area. I really like the shapes and the colours and your high pov is just great!

hello Neels
This is a specatacular landscape , splendid in its aridty , with some patches of greenery , like an oasis . I've heard recently that South Africa was suffering of a terrible drought this year ... May be that with some heavy rains , thses hills become entirely green ?
Regards
