Photographer's Note
End April / begin Mai there are billions of tulips around in the polders of the Netherlands.
The flower of the tulip will be cut of when the tulip is the size as on the photo. Then the plant uses all the energy to grow and creates new bulbs which are sold all over the world.
But these 2~3 weeks are a party to photograph.

Hello Jan Arie
We see a lot of pictures of Dutch tulip fields at this time of year. But they are seldom as original as this. Most seem to want to emphasize the sheer number and size of the bulb fields: you've taken a different and more suble approach and gone in tight to just a few blooms. For me, less is more. Nice one.

Dag Jan Arie,
Mooi licht in deze close ups waar voor je flink door de knieen moet zijn gegaan. Je lage uitgangspunt verschaft een origineel beeld op de prachtige tulpen.

Hello Jan Arie,
I love tulips and appreciate very much this close, graphic representation, featuring lovely, romantic light and an intriguing play of shadows. You've produced a fine 3D effect, the subtlety of colours and textures is exquisite. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,
Ourania
