Photographer's Note
Nankou is a rural community in the north-west of Guangdong province, not far from Meizhou. It is populated by the Pan family who made money overseas and used (part of) it to build grand semi-circular farmhouses in their ancestral village. This style of architecture is reminiscent of the more famous tulou building across the border in Fujian province.
This is a detail, a corner inside one of those houses. Notice the bizarre, but typical shape of the window.

Hi Benny,
I like this well composed rustic shot. The red banner hanging down adds a nice touch of colour to the composition.

Ciao Benny

Amicalement

Hi Benny
now this is what i call an ugly scene, but thats what gives it its character and charm too :)
I"m really enjoying the overall rustic elements, and liking how surprisingly well they photograph!
good idea to stop and capture a unique scene like this one - it turned out well.
cheers

Hello Benny,
I follow your Chinese work, I really do. If I don't speak / write is because I'm a bit tired with words, just watch and learn lately.
This image made me smile. I've recently read a book about the Japanese way of living. It was mentioned in that book about a tool used to gather leaves, probably similar to the one in your photo - the rake I mean. The Japanese call that tool 'the bear-claw', and I can see why :).
I'd be curious to know the Chinese name of that tool, to check if there are any similarities.
I very much like the inclusion of the red strip with the writing.
Best wishes.
