Photographer's Note
The Basilica Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and Saint Berardo is the most important piece of art in Teramo. The construction began in 1158 under the wish of the bishop Guido II, because he was eager to have a new location for San Berardo da Pagliara memorabilia. It was consecrated and completed in 1176. Most of the material used to build was taken from the theater and the Roman amphitheater. The tower built in 11th and 12th centuries has three bells and it is 165 ft (50.29 m) long. Another relevant masterpiece is the silver canopy of Nicola da Guardiagrele, which took 15 years to be built (from 1433 to 1448). Since September 8, 2007, it is now possible to visit the subterranean crypt of Saint Berardo da Pagliara, the patron saint of Teramo.

Come cattedrale θ un pς....povera, ma la foto θ ben fatta, ottima la luce e ottimo il taglio.

This shot has a comfortable symmetry with repeat columns recede smoothly depicting the sense of peacefulness, dewpth and well detailed very subtly. A balanced image some wonderful light in soft natural colors and strong focal point. A interesting piece of work, well done, TFS

You had managed to use the very low light prevailed indoors, and came with a well managed photo.
Prominently in photo, is the fact that only daylight illuminated the cattedrale, not lamps on sight.

Excellent management of light and colour. The balance in composition is of course there - since the POV makes it natural to keep balance and proportions just right in the photograqph.
Howeve the depth of colour - of the benches in the nave and then the diffused light in the second room dur to the absorbing colour of the walls - has made this photograph an excellent documentation of the cathedral.
The simplicity of design and the absolute lack of any ornate artwork has actually made the play of light and shade so important in this photograph. The light and shadow enhances the perfection in the sequence of arches and corners. The emblem at the top of the first arched passage has been beautifully captured.

Ciao caro Silvio,
Your last photograph showed us an interesting view of the outside of this cathedral - and now you show us the beautiful interior of it.
The intereior has a wonderful classical appearance to it and, to me, appears to lack much of the elaborate decoration which I normally associate with Roman Catholic cathedrals and churches. The simple pillars and rounded arches are absolutely beautiful in their simplicity.
Perfect exposure, lovely natural colours and excellent details and sharpness.
An interesting note too.
