Photographer's Note

This is a part of the Rouen Cathedral. Rouen is the historic capital of Normandy, the land that was given to the Vikings by the king of the Franks in 911 to avoid the dangerous invasions of the Vikings.
During the Hundred Years' War the city was occupaid by England for 30 years, from 1419 to 1449. During this time, Joan of Arc was killed, burned at the stake.
