The white building is the New palace (Palazzo Nuovo) It was designed by Vincenzo Scamozzi in the early 17th century but only completed in 1928, today is the civic library. The fountain in the center is called Fontana del Podesta' erected by A. Contarini in 1780. This picture has been taken from the Old palace (Palazzo Vecchio) one of the main attractions of the city along with the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore (Saint Mary Major), the Cappella Colleoni (Colleoni chapel, the The Battistero (Baptistry) and Duomo or Cathedral of Bergamo, all easily reachable from this place.
