Photographer's Note
I like every photographic style, from landscape to street shooting, portrait to architecture.
But I have to say that landscape is the least spontaneous one, as everything is about light, angle and patience...
I've been to Mount Rundle by four occasions during my visit there, expecting more interesting light conditions than the big blue sky without clouds or oppositely, the all-covered sky.
Eventually, I have obtained the mood I was hoping for and stayed there for 3 hours, as the light was constantly shifting according to clouds formation, filtering sunrays and approaching storm.
In the WS, a photo of Wanda van den Hogen during this TE meeting...

Tu as raison , les ciels nuageux constituent des sujets et des conditions fantastiques . On a quelquefois la malchance d'avoir un ciel tout bleu :)) (C'est quand même bien plaisant , aussi) . Ici , l'effet est assez dramatique . le contraste entre l'avant plan très éclairé et la montagne est très fort . J'aurais peut être préféré un peu de lumière sur le sommet , ce qui aurait renforcé le contraste avec le ciel . Mais c'est ton choix , et l'ambiance est superbement restituée .

Hello André,
Je te rejoins sur la patience avec laquelle il faut pratiquer la photographie de paysage. Il faut parfois se rendre sur l'endroit d'une prise de vue et savoir accepter que ce n'est pas pour cette fois...
Ici, tu as su patienter pour obtenir de la lumière dans l'avant plan.
J'aurais effectivement vu un peu plus de lumière solaire sur les flancs superbement escarpées de cette montagne. Surtout dans la partie vert foncée à sa base.
Les nuages donnent de l'ambiance à l'image mais je trouve que tu leurs à donné un peu trop d'importance car une bonne moitié de l'image leur est consacrée.
Vous avez au Canada des paysages qui n'ont rien à envier aux paysages Suisse. Superbe endroit.
Un meeting au Canada ! Cela me plairait ! Mais c'est loin...

Bonjour André,
Jolie composition et belle ambiance avec ce ciel chargé qui crée profondeur et contraste, et donne de la force à l'image. Le flanc enneigé s'inscrit dans une diagonale qui traverse le cadre, équilibre la composition et génère une bonne dynamique. L'angle aigu de la lande rejoint l'angle obtus de la montagne par un effet de zigzag qui donne du mouvement à l'image. Une composition très "pointue", comme on le voit, avec de surcroît ces conifères qui dressent leur cîme vers la lumière.

Tu as su être patient et attendre le moment propice pour faire l'image avec cette petite pointe de terre très éclairée qui vient faire contraste avec la pointe neigeuse dans les nuages.

I like this shot, one of the most beautiful parks in western canada. you captured the mountain very well with good details and a nice layer of snow
while the FG has a fantastic light and brightness contrasting with the rest of the image very well

Hi Andre,
Impressive image of the snow covered mountain.
I think the sky BG looks great. The yellow
offers good contrast. The yellow line and the
trees at the base of the mountain is a fine detail.

I agree with you, landscape photography requires patience and time and it is not easy. You did verywell here, capting the snow covered mountain aginst the light flooded foreground and the threatening sky. A bit more detail in the dark lowerparts of the mountainperhaps. Regards

I like it, and I'm slightly jealous in a "wish I were there" sort of way. The glowing yellow grass is interesting. I love stormy clouds in landscape photos. They always make the place look so much more wild and adventures. :)

Bonjour André,
un roc des plus impressiooant, coincé entre deux météos. Le soleil qui inonde agréablement l'avant pla,, tandis que le ciel se montre des plus menaçants.
J'aime beaucoup le cadrage qu inclut le plan d'eau au FG. Un ciel magnifique.
