Photographer's Note
This is the Chungara lake (4500m). There were pink flamingos in the water. Extract of my logbook: "Very cold, take care to not go to fast, it is very hard at this height. We start to eat when the snow begin to fall !". Come back to the hotel in two hours to go from 4500 m to 0m sea level (headache).
See also the other picture of parc national Lauca and the note.
Photo was scanned and processed with Neatimage to remove the noise of scan. Then sharpen and add a little saturation.

Bravo Chantal, le scan a trθs bien sorti. L'endroit a l'air trθs mystιrieux. L'eau semble avoir une texture solide, ce qui me laisse penser que tu as utilisι un temps d'exposition assez long. En tout cas, c'est une trθs belle photo!

I like the different layers here in your picture, Chantal. The foreground, the water and the mountains in the mist/clouds.
As I see this, it must be a wonderful place.
A friend of mine (Strangiato here) has travelled in Chili too, so I know the place also from his pics. Great landscape and you've captured this very well !

Je me suis permis d'ajouter cette photo au thθme sur les lacs ΰ plus de 3800 mθtres d'altitude...

Voyage de rκve pour observer une ιclipse; panorama splendide loin des turbulences des villes.
Cadrage parfait et luminositι presque hivernale avant la tombιe de la neige.
