Photographer's Note
Location: Piazza della Rotonda in front of the Pantheon. (directly behind me there was a McDonalds)
Time: Very, very early in the morning. Thats the good thing about flying to Europe. Its easy to wake up at 4 o'clock in the morning and go take pictures before anyone hits the streets. Gotta love jet lag.
Stay'n alive: I just wanted to post this picture of my favorite place in Rome to show everyone that I'm still alive. :) Looks like I've been missing some great photos that everyone's been posting.

and look who shows up just when we have decided to go to Utah at the end of May :) impressive timing :)) and as you can guess, I'll once again need tips about the southern part of the state.
but back to the shot - it looks like those fairy tale places made entirely of gold. amd the smoke-like water adds to the dreamy mood. mentioning of McDonalds certainly brings back the reality :) great shot, Ryan, and good to see you back.
best,
Kristine

Hi Ryan,
Splendid shot well composed with nice warm colors. The lights are wonderful. The fontain in foreground is impressive. You had a good idea to wake up early and you could take excellent shot without people around in this place. The blue sky is magnificent. Well done. Best regards, Consuelo

Hello Ryan!
it had been a while since you posted! Nice update!
the compo is interesting. The superposition of the water movement over that monument who's been there, unmoved for so long is quite nice!
At first, I thought the fountain took a tad too much space in the compo. I wondered if you shouldn't have place the camera a bit higher to minimze its presence and offer a view of the entrance to the Pantheon. But then, you gotta respect the editorial choice of the guy who was there at the moment the picture was taken!
I don't know if you're a fan of it, but you might wanna consider crop the bin?
I don't remember there was a McDonalds there...not very nice:S
see you!

Ciao Ryan,
a particular pov and a good angle, are the unique characteristics of this photo, this that is a monument among the more photographed in Rome, so it exalts even more all of its beauty, compliments for the original shot and the good control of the light.

The composition is superb showing both the fountain and the pantheon, and the colours you got are really fine.
If I should judge from the colour of the sky I doubt it was 4 o'clock in the morning. Maybe you had your watch set on the american time... (:-
Well done,

No kidding! :) You are indeed alive! It's a nice surprise to find you here as most of my "buddies" are absent from TE. How is everything? Are you already sharing your knowledge? ;)
I like this one a lot. You already know that. The exposure is perfect!

Hi Ryan,
a good blue hour, the huge foreground curve is a good graphical element here.

Hi Ryan,
You live! Nice. ;-)
I like how the light hits the facade of the Pantheon. Very nice.
The sky is on the edge of being too light for such a photograph, but it still works!
Welcome back! Dennis

Hi Ryan,
simply beautiful! These details, the light, the colors. I was at this exact spot in August of 2005 and you just brought me right back there, as if it'd been yesterday. I'm quite impressed, an absolute favorite!
Thanks and take good care,
Linda
P.S. Yes, I also remember the McDonalds with the tables outside on this Piazza. Is nothing sacred?? I tried to steer the kids clear of that, but they just *had* to have some fries! ;-)) And I kept thinking about how high the bribe must have been to allow a joint like that to be built there.....

Very nice photo. Makes you want to touch the water. Seems like the foreground, subject and background have very good depth. Nice work man!
