Photographer's Note
This is another picture of Glenny, the daughter of our friend Juan Carlos, the man who allowed us to visit his mine with him.
Eventually we made it back from the mines... exhausted, sore, but most of all horribly thirsty. i had made the horrible mistake of not leaving the girls from our group with a tremendous surplus of water, so the small amount that they had left was quickly done away with by the other two guys while i grabbed the filter and any water receptacle that i could get my hands on. i spent the next hour and a half or so filtering water for everybody, which was a job that i truly enjoyed. While they told stories back in town, i was about three or four minutes upstream, just out of town, sitting on a nice comfortable rock watching a beautiful mountain stream flow mere inches from my feet.
The next morning we were asked to play with the kids at the local school. The education system of Choco was sorely lacking. A new teacher would be brought in from Arequipa, would work for a few weeks, would go back to Arequipa to pick up his or her pay, and would never be heard from again. School would cease to exist for a few weeks until another teacher could be found.
This morning, however, there was school, and at the end of the educational progress we gringoes were able to go out to the soccer field and play with the children. At one point in time i caught Glenny happily dancing and barely had time to get my camera focused before the moment was lost.

Hi Sam.
Very nice photo. The mien of the girl is really funny. DOF and color contrast are very good. Also the sharpness of the front. All things considered it is a good photo.

Hi Sam,
Nice shot and good portrait. It remind me of the time when I was there. I dis a treak from Cusco to Puno by the mountains. That was great.
Good shot. Congratulation.

Hi Sam and congratualtions for your gallery.
Really is plenty of good pictures, but I've choosen this one for several reason.
If I compare this one with "out of the Colca" I see a less spectacular but perhaps more interesting photo. And the reason is thos girl and her happiness.
Also a colorful and good composition.
Full of life and happiness.
Great.

The moment may have been brief, but you captured it incredibly well, Sam! Such dynamic poses on all the children, totally carefree in their bright colors. I like the tight framing that shuts out all context, just as the children probably do. Great shot! Regards, Ken.
