Photographer's Note
What an interesting subject I found this morning, a rooster!
The Latin word "gallus" means at the same time: "Gallo" and "Galo".
During the mid age, the rooster was used as a religious symbol, also a symbol of hope and faith.
Since Renaissance, the rooster was linked to the idea of a french nation, a concept which was slowly under development.
The Revolution period would be the one that will state the rooster as the symbol for the french identity, he appears in the shield, it also adorned the red cap, on the seal of the First consul and the allegory of the brotherhood often takes a cane finished off with a rooster.
Later Napoleσn replaces the Republic by the Empire and, from then, the eagle replaces the rooster since in agreement with the Emperor:
"The rooster does not have force and it cannot be the image of an empire like French".
The Rooster of the Republic appears after a period of absence. In 1830 French rooster rehabilitates the image and the Duke of Orlιans will sign an order in as he indicates himself that the rooster would have to appear in the flags and the bellboys of the uniforms of the national guard.
After all, beyond this particular case, it is interesting how humans associate concepts and ideas to graphical icons.
This rooster is a truly handsome one, I liked his details and colors. Although he seemed a little bit arrogant and show off, I kind of like him...
Not many changes, only cropping and contrast adj. , also sharpening and resizing.
Saludos a todos!!!

Ps.: I forgot to set "red eye reduction" at the camara...
=O)
The Minolta Z1 is a good camera, it has a "vivid colors" setup. If you set this, colors are automatically enhanced.
But you have to be careful cause sometimes, specially when the motif is monocolor it tends to "burn out" all details.
I do not like to blur the background with PP. It is TOO artificial according to my opinion.

What incredible colors Cesar! And the sheen of the feathers. Luscious! Birders will be happy with the glimmer in this rooster's eye as well. I like the tight crop and the softness of the background. You did good work here as well as with your notes. The only thing missing is a recipe for capon... ;-)
Perhaps Coq au vin... Coq au vin

Harto color con mucho detalle. Hasta parece medio irreal o lo han baρado recientemente. Sσlo le faltan las patas en la foto y es perfecta.

Extremely sharp photograph with rich saturated colours. I like the details of the texture on the feathers. Nice work on the composition with its position in diagonal.
