The Alvoradas Palace is the official residence of the President of the Republic. It was the first building inaugurated in Brasilia, June of 1958. Its located on the edges of the Parano Lake. This joint architectural, of which is part the Alvoradas Chapel, was projected for Niemeyer Oscar (1917), where the principles of simplicity and beauty architectural are present, leading the observer to have the illusion of that the building is landing slowly on the ground. The gardens of the Palace had been projected for Robert Burle Max.
The Alvoradas Palace became one of the icons of the Brazilian modern architecture, and also it was a symbol of the technician-cultural progress of Brazil during decade 1950. The singular format of its external pillars gave to origin to the symbol and emblem of the Capital, present in the blazon of the Federal District.
The denomination of Alvorada was given by Juscelino Kubitschek-JK, then President da Republic, 1956-1961, and when they had asked to it for that the word "Alvorada", JK answered with another question: "What it is Brasilia ? Brasilia is dawn of a new day for Brazil". In the golden wall, of the main entrance of the Palace, it is the famous historical phrase of JK, when of the launching of the basic rock of the construction of the new Capital, 02/10/1956: "Of this Central Plateaus, this solitude where into briefing it will be changedded into brain of the high national decisions, throwing the eyes one more time on tomorrow of my country and I foresee this dawn with solid faith in its great destination".
For months ago, the beautiful gardens of this Palace, projected for Burle Max had suffered an adulteration. The current occupants, also, had decided to enter in the world of the arts, and had placed in its lawns, having used red flowers for fill, strange symbols that were a great contrast with the original project of the artist. After some criticizes on the written media, the gardens had come back to the original project.
