Photographer's Note

The Juscelino Kubitschek bridgealso known as the President JK Bridge or just the JK Bridge (Ponte JK in Portuguese) crosses Lake Paranoα in Brasνlia, D.F. It is named for Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira, former president of Brazil, who in the late 50s decided to build Brasνlia as the new capital of the country. It was designed by architect Alexandre Chan and structural engineer Mαrio Vila Verde. () Inaugurated on December, 15, 2002, this bridge immediately became one more of Brasilias favorite landmarks, especially at night. Chan won the Gustav Lindenthal Medal for this project at the 2003 International Bridge Conference in Pittsburgh, USA. This medal is awarded for a single, recent outstanding achievement demonstrating harmony with the environment, aesthetic merit and successful community participation.
Note: The locals and tourists always go there at the ends day to take pictures or sometimes just only the beautiful view of the sunset.

Gostei desses arcos cruzando a ponte, diferente isso e sσ vi agora nessa foto, gostei! Esse POV ficou σtimo pois tambιm mostrou as pessoas, muito bom!

bom registro. A ponte JK sempre ι um bom motivo para "clicar". Tenho algumas delas, inclusive no TE. Gostei da descontraηγo das pessoas caminhando e apreciando a paisagem.

I have heard a lot about Brasilia, but there is not much info here, neither images, so it's so good to know a little more about your neighbor country.
I like the way you managed to buil this composition with all that curves of the bridge.

a very interesting bridge the international reputation of which is no wonder. You have chosen the right POV to demonstrate its curiousity and succesfully used the polarizer filter to increase the contrast between bridge and sky.

me gusta el fuerte grafismo que produce la geometrνa de curvas y lνneas de los arcos estructurales y los cables de sustentaciσn de este elegante puente, asν como las farolas que dan una fuerte perspectiva.
Tu encuadre es muy bueno y equilibra la imagen, y la gente y los coches dan un buen toque dinαmico a la escena.
Muy buena realizaciσn.

Well composed picture where you have captured the graceful arches of the bridge. But what was the architect thinking of with those horrible black lamps.

Hi Consuelo,
Wonderfu prespective leades the eye to the left and back to the right creating beautiful lines and excellent depth to this composition. The modern span contrast nicely with the clear blue sky.

Veja, vocκ nγo mostra um cartγo postal da ponte inteira, mas um detalhe, um βngulo (como jα destaquei na fotos sobre os azulejos) e, como disse Andrι Malraux, o detalhe ι rei.

Bonito ponto de visγo sobre esta JK deu bastante profundidade a foto ,sγo muito bonitos estes arcos a cruzarem a ponte, as pessoas ficaram interessante no primeiro plano , boas cores ,parabιns!!!

Muitνssimo obrigada pela correηγo, COnsuelo! Deu-me a oportunidade de observar outra tomada das mais interessantes da ponte.
Ela parece ser um ponto de convergκncia das pessoas. Quero dizer, nγo apenas um ponto turνstico, mas um lugar que as pessoas passeiam tambιm alιm de, provavelmente, se exercitarem.
