It was a cold afternoon of June, a grandfather was taking care of his grandson in the edge of Repϊblica Square while the women of the family had went up to the highest part of the city to buy something. The little boy was having fun in the lawn for many time when he noticed mommy and the other women were going down in their direction and then he begun to dance and wave for them.
When I had the same age of him I played a lot in a playground located where nowadays there is a "Game house" for older people, whose base you can see ahead. The wall of volcanic stones is the same of my childhood.
If you open the image in larger format you will be able to see the cigarette in the hand of the grandfather, his generation had no chance to escape of this vicious. In Brazil the use of tobacco fell down drastically in these last decades, unfortunately the teens are tasting this poison, because in their minds it is cool to play with the risks.
