Caraça Sanctuary, is a Catholic religious temple located in the Brazilian municipality of Catas Altas, in the state of Minas Gerais. The official name of the complex is the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora Mãe dos Homens, but Caraça has this nickname due to the shape of the mountain, which resembles the face of a lying giant. One of the main tourism routes in the municipality, it was the first church in Brazil in neo-Gothic style (1876 to 1883). It has a tower of 48 meters high and a painting of the Holy Supper painted by Mestre Ataíde in 1828.
Santuário do Caraça, é um templo religioso católico localizado no município brasileiro de Catas Altas, no estado de Minas Gerais. O nome oficial do complexo é o Santuário de Nossa Senhora Mãe dos Homens, mas o Caraça tem esse apelido devido à forma que tem parte da serra, que lembra o rosto de um gigante deitado. Uma das principais rotas de turismo do município, foi a primeira igreja do Brasil em estilo neogótico (1876 a 1883). Possui uma torre de 48 metros de altura e uma pintura da Santa Ceia pintada pelo Mestre Ataíde em 1828.

An excellent postcard style photo of the neo-Gothic church rising above the low white buildings separated by the staircase. The photo is very well exposed and the colours nicely saturated.

It's a cracking good image Ricardo - with adorable architectural style of both while the eye-pointing steeple holds the focus so effectively. I remember this lovely church from photos by Lucas and Alexandre. No surprise it is popular, it is indeed a very photogenic spot. You have a wonderful weather with charming pattern of the clouds. Great composition with the well included tree branch here and the palm trees to well fill the sky and better frame the view.

This is a very fine photograph of the building!
It is nicely angled, to give a long, linear perspective and the tall steeple is situated right on the thirds line.
The exposure looks perfect, fine colours and no oe.

A well balanced picture, divided with objects over the picture space, shows the garden in front and up the tower.
Side light in perfecrt exposure, brought out the natural colors.

uma linda e clássica vista do caraça. uma pena que a pintura da igreja ainda estava para ser refeita, ela toda branquinha seria algo incrível. mas não é sua culpa. a foto é linda e bem feita de qualquer modo.
