Photographer's Note

The So Joo del Rei Station was inaugurated in 1881, with the presence of Emperor Dom Pedro II, and linked the city to the Central Railway of Brazil. The railroad was deactivated, maintaining only the stretch from So Joo to Tiradentes, where the steam compositions still run for tourism purposes. Attached to the station there is also a museum, a large roundhouse and maintenance workshops.

Next January I plan to return to these two cities and bring more photos of the beautiful colonial architecture of the region.
