This machine is used to extract juice of sugar cane.
Here we call this juice "caldo de cana" or "garapa".
This juice is rich in saccharose and it is consumed "in natura".
People like to drink it with samosa.

Very nice documentation of old machinery. I think we used this type of machine in the Philippines were we also raised sugar canes. Good dof with nice contrast. Very well done, tfs.
