Photographer's Note
Electric fence on top of the walls of a house in Brazil.
Even in small towns like the one where this picture was taken, people are getting more and more afraid - of being fooled, of being robbed, of having their houses invaded by burglars - and try to hide their paranoia behind bars, high walls and electric fences.
According to a survey realized by an important institute, only 3% of the brazilians tend to think that the others are in general trustworthy - which makes Brazil one of the least trusting countries. That of course ruins human relationship, specially in big cities.
Can you imagine how many friendships (or just good moments) never happen just because one is afraid of being fooled by that stranger?
If you show trust to someone, he's probably gonna "pay back" and trust you too, and realize that people are not as bad as the paranoid say. This guy can restart the loop by trusting some other stranger. It is time we start this virtuous cycle!
Have a nice day, and thank you for your coments!
