The Araucaria angustifolia, known by the pine tree-Brazilian names, pine, pine tree-pity-paraná and araucaria, is the tree that best characterizes the Forest Mixed Ombrófila, more known by Forest with Araucaria. This species happens in the form of homogeneous groupings, in the ciliary forests and in capons, dominating the dossal completely. It is frequent in the three states of the south of Brazil and in scattered stains in the south of São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, still extending, until the northeast of Argentina (province of Misiones) and east of Paraguay, in medium altitudes from 500 to 900 meters and passing, in some places, the 1000 meters. It reaches up to 50 meters of height and it possesses cylindrical trunk and retilíneo. This pine tree especially should be 50 meters tall (something as 18 floors), the fence soon lowers almost has a man's height is only to compare.
This tree appears more in the states of the South - as he/she says the text above - but my city especially is in the same latitude of the north of the state of Paraná that does with that she is not difficult of being found in my area.
