Photographer's Note
Catas Altas is located in the State of Minas Gerais and appeared in the early years of the 18th century due to the search for gold. It stands out in the urban panorama, a large square where the first chapel was implanted, which, still in the early years of the 18th century, was replaced by the current Mother Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição. Around the large churchyard of the temple grew the village of Catas Altas. The Historic Center, typical of the colonial period, includes, besides the houses, the Matriz Nossa Senhora da Conceição church, the Nossa Senhora do Rosário Chapel, the Santa Quitéria Chapel and the Bonfim Chapel.
Catas Altas situa-se no Estado de Minas Gerais e surgiu nos primeiros anos do século XVIII em razão da busca pelo ouro. Destaca-se no panorama urbano, grande largo em que foi implantada a primeira capela que, ainda nos primeiros anos do século XVIII foi substituída pela atual Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora da Conceição. Entorno do grande adro do templo cresceu o povoado de Catas Altas. O Centro Histórico, típico do período colonial, incluí além do casario, a igreja Matriz Nossa Senhora da Conceição, a Capela de Nossa Senhora do Rosário, a Capela de Santa Quitéria e a Capela do Bonfim.

Hello Ricardo,
This is a fine composition where the drinking fountain fills the foreground well and along with the church creates good depth. The white façade looks great in this warm afternoon light and with the dark blue sky behind. The white building in the background provides a third strong element that give a good balance to the photo. Colours and exposure are really excellent.

Hello Ricardo, with the perfect blue sky, the church stands out so well. It is a beautiful building with very fine spires on top of the two towers.
I like the composition with the church off centre, and the column that is a drinking fountain(?) in the foreground.
The light was casting long shadows across the ground.

Good choice to add the fountain in the FG with the nchurch in the far side.
Gold reserchers rural town, and I went for a virtual tour on Google-Maps, found its center on an approx. location at -20.075, -43.41 on the map.

Voilà une mise en image agréable à contempler par son choix de cadrage valorisant cette grande place sur laquelle repose une fontaine (je suppose), un édifice religieux typique de la région joliment dressé avec ses deux clochers originaux.
Le tout environné d'un ciel d'un bleu intense et de petits nuages qui s'amusent à danser.

Wonderful light and attractive colours.
Very nice with the long shadows on the foreground.
I'm not sure if I see decorations on the column of the drinking fountain or if the stone was damaged by all kinds of weather but the column has a splendid colour and makes a good foreground.
Beautiful shape of the upper parts of the church towers.
Excellent composition, depth and sharpness.

The drinking fountain is well included in the frame, creating a very good sense of depth to the attractive, white church. The long shadows say much about the time of day and help to explain the golden light.
