Series on my trip to the CHAPADA DIAMANTINA (DIAMOND MOUNTAIN RANGE) - State of BAHIA - The NORTHEASTERN REGION of BRAZIL - From August 1st to 9th, 2009 - # 015 !

MIRANTE DO MORRO DO CASTELO !
VIEWPOINT FROM THE MORRO DO CASTELO/CASTLE MOUNT !

It was my SECOND day in the VALE DO PATI/PATI VALLEY.
In the morning, a light trekking along the creeks of the valley, visiting two waterfalls (FUNIL and LAJEDO).
After lunch, though, one of the hardest climbings I've ever done in my life, up to the MORRO DO CASTELO/CASTLE MOUNT, where I had to go across a cave to reach one of the most known viewpoints in the VALE DO PATI/PATI VALLEY!
Sweat, pain in my legs and arms, scratched equipments, everything was worthwhile because the view was astonishing and I could stay there for some half an hour just enjoying the silence (only the sounds of Nature), the fresh wind blowing on my face, the sunset that was about to take place (I had to go back all the way down before it got dark - remember the animals that would start hunting at night?!)!

DON'T MISS:

ONE WS VERSION, take a look if you have some spare time:
A Panorama version of the same place!

A SECOND WS VERSION:
Beto, my experienced local tour guide, took this picture of me, up there, in the spot where I was enjoying the view from the MORRO DO CASTELO/CASTLE MOUNT! In this picture, one can see how small we are!
