Series on my trip to the CHAPADA DIAMANTINA (DIAMOND MOUNTAIN RANGE) - State of BAHIA - The NORTHEASTERN REGION of BRAZIL - From August 1st to 9th, 2009 - # 014 !



O PAREDÃO ROCHOSO E SUAS CACHOEIRAS NO FIM DO VALE DO CACHOEIRÃO, EM FORMATO DE FERRADURA !
THE BIG ROCKY WALL AND ITS WATERFALLS AT THE END OF THE CACHOEIRÃO VALLEY, A HORSESHOE SHAPED ONE!


It was my FOURTH day in the VALE DO PATI/PATI VALLEY. Another hard trekking - 16km - to reach the very end of the VALE DO CACHOEIRÃO/BIG WATERFALLS VALLEY! In the beginning it was quite easy, some kilometers just walking in the VALE DO PATI/PATI VALLEY and in the VALE DO CACHOEIRÃO! As the valley became narrower, I had to walk along trails in the middle of woods, through creeks, big rocks, always up, until I reached the end of it, in a horseshoe shaped big rocky wall, with waterfalls all around! My shorts were all torn apart because of the hard work but it was all worthwhile!
In this one, one can see the previous waterfalls and another one on the left top corner! It was the dry season and not much water! I reached there walking down in the valley, but one can go up there where one can have magnificent viewpoints (maybe next time, after all, the whole CHAPADA DIAMANTINA is bigger than Belgium and I left many other attractions back there)!
