The Square of the Three Powers is not any square as all those that we knew. It’s a civic space, that besides attracting tourists, this place also has the political meaning, being stage of great manifestations and celebrations.
It’s placed at the end of the Monumental Scale, side East of the city, and it has an area of 26,4 thousand m2 and it is part of the town planning projected by Lúcio Costa, which said the following words about this Square: "I would like the Square of the Three Powers to be a Versailles, no a Versailles of the king, but, a Versailles of the people, which treated with a lot of elegance and respect."
This square gathers the three constituted powers of the Republic: at the center, the National Congress - the Legislative Power, to the North, the Palace of the Plateau - the Executive Power, and to the South, Federal Supreme Court - the Judiciary Power. The objective is to show the balance among these three Powers. In this square there are great concentrated works of arts, as “The Justice”, by Alfredo Cheschiatti, the Historical Museum of Brasília, the Pantheon of the Homeland and the Pavilion of the National Flag.
In the picture to the side, it is the famous sculpture entitled of “The Warriors”, dated of 1959, made in bronze, with 8 meters of height, it is considered as one of the symbols of the Capital, it was projected by Bruno Giorgi, (1905 -1993), Brazilian artist, born in São Paulo. This work, it is also known as “Os Candangos”, that it is a homage to the workers that worked in the construction of Brasília. Other works by Bruno Giorgi: The Meteor.
Nowadays, this picture shows, also, Bento Viana's photographic exhibition, he’s a photographer from Brasília, entitled “Brasília Illuminated”, that is a homage to Oscar Niemeyer (1907), for a hundred years. These photographic panels can be visited by night, because they are all illuminated. This Square, with all their monuments and constructions, was officially tumbled by law as Historical Patrimony, on December 06 of 2007. In WS, a night view of this exhibition.

A Praça dos Três Poderes, não é uma praça qualquer como todas aquelas que conhecemos. Ela é um espaço cívico, que além de atrair turistas, também tem o significado político, sendo palco de grandes manifestações e celebrações.
Está situada ao final da Escala Monumental, lado leste da cidade, tem uma área de 26,4 mil m2 e faz parte do plano urbanístico projetado por Lúcio Costa, o qual disse as seguintes palavras sobre esta Praça: “Eu queria que a Praça dos Três Poderes fosse um Versalhes, não um Versalhes do rei, mas um Versalhes do povo, tratado com muito apuro".
Esta praça reúne os três poderes constituídos da República: ao centro, o Congresso Nacional – o Poder Legislativo, ao norte, o Palácio do Planalto – o Poder Executivo, e ao sul, o Supremo Tribunal Federal – o Poder Judiciário. O objetivo é mostrar o equilíbrio entre estes três Poderes. Nesta praça estão concentradas grandes obras de artes, como A Justiça, de Alfredo Cheschiatti, o Museu Histórico de Brasília, o Panteão da Pátria e o Pavilhão da Bandeira Nacional.
Na foto ao lado, está a famosa escultura intitulada de Os Guerreiros, datada de 1959, feita em bronze, com 8 metros de altura, é considerada como um dos símbolos da Capital, foi projetada por Bruno Giorgi, (1905-1993), artista brasileiro, nascido em São Paulo. Atualmente, esta foto mostra, também, a exposição fotográfica de Bento Viana, fotógrafo brasiliense, intitulada Brasília Iluminada, que é uma homenagem ao cem anos de Oscar Niemeyer (1907). Estes painéis fotográficos podem ser visitados à noite, pois são todos iluminados.
Esta Praça, com todos seus monumentos e edificações, foi oficialmente tombada por lei como Patrimônio Histórico, em 06 de dezembro de 2007. No WS, uma visão noturna desta exposição.
