Photographer's Note

This bridge, designed by Rio de Janeiro's architect Alexandre Chan, was open to the public on December 15, 2002. Its shapes is inspired by the movement of a stone skipping over a water. The three arches support three 240-meter long spans. The bridge is 1,200 meters long, 24 meters wide and the steel structure weighs 2,500 tonnes. In 2003 it was awarded the most beautiful bridge in the world, by the International Bridge Conference of the Engineers' Society of Western Pennsylvania, USA.
