Photographer's Note
San Ignacio de Velasco is a little tranquil town 12 hours ride north by bus from Santa Cruz and it served as an embankment point for our visit to the remote Noel-Kempff National Park. The main way of transport in town are motorcycles and bicycles, that are riding up and down the red dirt roads of the little town. Sometimes you can see whole families riding a cranking old motorcycle. Usage of helmets or other protective accessories are not heard of, of course. While me and my friend went to do our last arrangements before the department the day after, we saw this great sunset, and both of us, returned quickly to the hostel to reach for our cameras and make it to the sunset over this road...
Even though this picture contains disturbing elements such as power line and polls, I think that in THIS case it adds a dimension of depth and perspective. I would be happy to hear what you think about it...

Hi Chen,
The colors of the sunset are really beautiful, a kind of orange-golden mist. Wow! I like also that the rest is in a black shadow (I think I already mentionne in another post my liking of that). I think I would have cropped the upper part of the picture, just a bit over the second lamp. Not because the rest is disturbing elements, after all they do exist(!), but to make more the emphasis (is that a word in english?), the accent on the color of the background, of what is truly the important thing in your picture. Just my personnal opinion. Still, very beautiful, peaceful picture.

The picture has a nice warm feel to it and the powerlines don't bother me at all. I'm a sunset fan anyway.

Hi Chen - i think too that you have more than one picture here - there is a nice landscape format image working from the bottom up - but I also like the scale of your square format - there is a little too much going on here from the sharpening point of view with the ghosting on the lines and lamposts but a minor thing - the depth and richness of the colours and the perspective into this golden orange glow, the capture of the people, the composition, the more subtle colours elsewhere paint a minor symphony - great image!
best wishes Kev
p.s. really brings back a moment like this in India after really the most dangerous, hair raising and life threatening journey of my life (how many times can you come close to death in one day?) - this kind of image is indelibly etched on my mind from the end of that day as I walked back to the place I was staying.
