Photographer's Note
From November 11th until December 11th we visited Latin-America. Our main goal was Patagonia, where we travelled around for about three weeks. The other days were spent in Buenos Aires, at the Iguazu Falls and in Brazil.
We decided to go to Patagonia after we saw some pictures of that area on Trek Earth! Seeing these photos, we thought: "Ahhhh... that looks so absolutely beautiful" and we could not wait to see it with our own eyes. I will start a travelogue and hope to be uploading a number of pictures of our trip in the following weeks.
This picture is not the first that I took, but for me it reflects the beauty of Patagonia very well. Lots of space, beautiful mountains and a big Andes Condor floating on the wind, expressing the feeling of freedom that we experienced in this area!
This picture was taken while we were on our way from El Calafate to the Perito Moreno glacier - one of the absolute highlights of Patagonia. More will follow, I hope you will enjoy!

Dat is een tijd geleden. En wat een schitterende capture heb je hier gemaakt. Ik heb het ook wel eens geprobeerd bij een ijsvogel, maar het enigste wat ik had waren de kleuren en het contour. Hele mooie foto, goede kleuren en een schitterende dof, erg goed werk.

great work, I like the bird in flight, very good crisp capture, good mountains too, I would have pointed your camera higher a little to getthe tops of the mountains, but really well done

Great capture Michael! I've tried many times to make a good shot of the condor... but still waiting :(
Good sharpness over the condor (it's a male one, because of the white neck; the females are all black).
I've been in Calafate and around ten years ago, and what I still remember of El Chalten is that when I saw the place and those amazing mountains aside I just felt that I reached paradise on earth.
I'm waiting for more shots ;)

Hey Gannink, Beautiful shot full of freedom. The beautiful and clear fingers of the condor are so clear and crisp! I can imagine that you would be excited, once you catch a bird like this, in a place like this.
Really nice!
BTW, I think the top of the mountains would even have been visible due to the weather.

Good picture! Great DOF and positioning of the condor at the side and not at the standard center, emphasizing the feeling of movement..
