Photographer's Note
Finally I also have my own picture of a little lonesome boat on TE...!
Anyway, this little boat was floating in the harbour of Ushuaia, the city that is assumed to be the most southern "big" city of the world. People tend to speak of "The end of the world" when talking about Tierra del Fuego – the most southern area of Argentina. So this little boat is waiting near the end of the world, until its owner arrives and starts rowing to... the end?

What a serene shot. The hues of blues are amazing, but I do like the bright red buoy it just springs out. Thanks Michael.

Wonderful shot Michael! I don't associate Tierra del Fuego with such a peaceful atmosphere, it's amazing. The air looks crispy cold with all these clear blue colors, and the red buoy stands out immediately. A beautiful scenery, really, this is place where I dream to go. One day, maybe...
The brown things on the sand at the right : are they seals or rocks?

Morvelous image. Fantastic composition with subtle delineated mountains at the distance. The foreground with red buoy is also amazing. Congratulations

I like this simple composition.
The small boat and this very colorful balloon are extremely well located.
Excellent POV and DOF.

We all need a lonesome boat photo, don't we! I'll have to try and get one too soon! This works so well with the boat counterpointing the mountains so nicely. Well done, Michael!

Of course, I still have to write comments on your other pictures as well, as they deserve it, but I got to start somewehere ;-), so why not here with this beauty. And I think Elaine uses the right word to describe my feelings as well, this serene shot.
I like the compo with that line of mountains in the background and the overall blue color. I have tried to imagine though what the picture would be without the pink buoy, it would be 'dead' in a way. So, well seen!!!
And congratulations with your lonesome boatshot.

Hello Michael
beautiful and quiet compo. Nice POV, and good frame. the boat is well placed, and the background is amazing, and seems to have no end ... a big space in your pic, feel freedom and peace.
Thanks for sharing

Hi Michael, A impressive blue tone color decorated with the big red dot. I like the hint of layer of blue ridges to show the end of the world. A very well taken picture with sharpness and clarity. The quiet and peaceful scene is very attractive.

Michael, this is a classical exemple of the famous rule of thirds. up third mountains/water, down third the lake/boat (which is not by chance in the intersection of the down vertical third) and in the up vertical you have the stones. the buoy is just in a golden position - if you think in terms of golden spirals guiding the eye.
But tell me, have you had everything in your mind when you pushed the button?
colors are just excellent.

Hey, I thought I had the exclusive of small lonely boats in TE! ;-)
Again, these excellent blue tones. I really like the cooling atmosphere. The bright light and strong contrasts also work very well. Regarding the framing I think it’s nice although I would have pointed the camera a bit higher to place the boat lower and give a bit more space above the mountain.
Due to the photo characteristics this can be easily done in PP with a crop and clone tool.

Hi Michael - a fantastic take on this wonderful cliche, the mountainous background and the red ball enforce the already great composition, and I'm so glad you did not give it the title "Alone".
