Photographer's Note
This is the third in a series of photos from the Papua New Guinea "Bung wan taim" (Which means all together) sing sing in 1971 - the sing sing to celebrate self government.
I am not sure where in PNG this group was from but their outfits are all traditional so it means they were probably from well away from a major centre.
It seems a long time ago but the first Chief Minister (Michael Somare)of PNG back then is now Prime Minister (for the third or fourth time!)
The photo is from a scanned slide which was a little discoloured (bluish) so I had to de-saturate it a bit and then some work with brightness and contrast. I've tried to present it as naturally as possible.

Ian, a fine capture of tremendous documentary value. Color palette emphasizes the vintage quality. Great contribution to TE. Best,

A very interesting document for TE!
Vivid scene, many details, a lot of movement.
I notice people looking from above as at a stadium game...
Thank you for sharing

Ian,
Such a nice image of the cultural event with signicant meaning. There are much going on in this image for the eyes to see. The image lack some contrast and sharpness perhaps due to the low light or movement. Otherwise, it a very compelling image. Thanks for sharing. I will see if I can improve the quality a little on workshop. Thanks
Way
