Photographer's Note

Hi All.

Easter Monday Sue and I managed to get out of bed early and went and had a poke around Castle Point. Castle Point is a small seaside resort situated on the North Islands lower east coast. It survives mainly on holiday makers though there are a few locals who make a living out of fishing and farming.

Recreational fishing is popular here and there are charter boats which operate out of this harbour. The shoreline is a mix of sandy beaches and rocky coastline, so a mix of fishing styles is possible for those who dont or cant fish from a boat. Diving for shellfish is also popular.

Tan (capthaddock) already has a photo of this lighthouse but taken from the top of the far hill.

For those interested in the statistics of this lighthouse I have posted a photo of the information sign in WS.
