Westhaven Marina

Auckland city's residents and ratepayers are now the guardians of one of the most beautiful parts of the city's waterfront, Westhaven Marina.

Auckland City purchased the marina in 2004 for $46 million. With around 1400 berths, it is one of the largest and most well-equipped marinas in the southern hemisphere. It is also in a magical position as the northern gateway to Auckland city.

When Auckland City bought the marina it said it would improve public access and amenities on the land, to make the area more appealing to visitors.

At the same time, the council has to ensure the marina is a successful business and follows international standards. This helps ensure the council doesn't have to put money into running the business.

Many people have an interest in the future of the marina. Auckland City is sought your feedback on its draft plans for the marina's future.
