Photographer's Note
To follow up the Levuka photo taken from Gun Rock that I posted recently here is one taken in the other direction of the next village of Vagadaci. Gun Rock is so named because naval ships used it for target practice.
As with the previous photo I have posted a photo taken in about 1880 by my great-grand father who was an early south pacific photographer. The other photo shows the area stripped of vegetation - possibly for cooking fuel but also possibly for use in ship repairs. In this photo there has been massive re vegetation of the hill sides. The flat area with houses beside the water, in colonial days, used to be the cricket ground. It is now occupied by government housing.

Hey Ian,
Another fine photo, with the "analogue spirit", from a spot I only dream of visiting. Beautiful scenery, and a nice POV. The shrubs are perhaps just a bit too obstructive, but I`m sure you had no choice. In any case, it`s still a very nice piece of photography for me.

P.S: Again it`s nice to compare it to the original. It seems that the vegetation is more lush nowadays, which is kind of strange? I`d conclude it`s the other way around?
