Photographer's Note
I took this photo on my birthday 2 years ago. This is Long Reef at low tide, near where I grew up. My earliest memories are of grandpa walking here with me on the Reef, picking oysters. It felt like we were walking on the moon. This beautiful, isolated spot was just so untouched. To the right just out of the frame, is where I saw my first shark whilst I was surfing near the bombora. Locals still call that surf spot The Butterbox.

Gidday Oyster Catcher,
The varying shades of blue accentuate the jigsaw puzzle of land lines at low tide, flowing towards the ocean's horizon, with a menacing cloud layer above. Looks exciting, my kind of place.
Would love to stroll along the shallow waters observing life.
Thanks for sharing,
Sincerely,
Pisces Ray

Ciao Lisa,
What an eerie and fascinating image. The patterns in the wet sand are quite mesmerising and the light sublime. Great photography. Thanks for sharing.

Hello dear Lisa,
a beautiful scene of graduating tones and fine textures, the light is touching the shore and the sea so gently. The depth and the colours are refreshing and suggestive at the same time. Reading your note and looking at the picture again I thought I saw the lovely scenes you have described projected against this awesome canvas. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,
Ourania

Gidday Lisa
This is a really otherworldly place, its like a cross between an alien planet and the skin that forms on a big bowl of custard :) amazing purple tones and that sky is beautiful, especially as it reflects across the wet sand. It feels like a very lonely and faraway place. I know its not today, but seeing as you took it on the day, Happy Birthday!

Hello Dear Lisa - an otherworldly shot where the shades and tones of blue are richly managed both in colour and texture. This is one to lose myself in.
Is it your birthday? Happy happy if it is and Happy happy if it isn't.
Take care

Ciao Lisa
i ricordi si confondono con la bellezza della tua foto.
A prima vista ho avuto l'impressione di una superficie ghiacciata.
Un minimalismo dai toni drammatici creato dalla natura e messo in evidenza dalla tua bravura.
Complimenti

Hi Lisa
really minimalist, but attractive by the sandwich of different hues of blue color, and the pattern on the wet sand.
Not a picture to show in the tourism leaflets, for sure!
Cheers

Ciao Lisa,
Like fire and ice. The long exposition give a texture laike ice on the beach. I like the " clair obscur " like in dark black and white old movies.
Have a nice day

Hi Lisa,
Love the deep cold blue tonality of this landscape post. It made the scene so well and special. The visual effect is simply eye catching. Very well done. Thank you for sharing with us.

Hi Lisa
Looks like Antarctica at first glance. Well composed with the horizon line well above centre and the repetitive patterns of the segmented reef covered in water resemble ice. Good graphism and sharpness. Tfs!

Kinds of blue.
Great picture, dear Lisa.
Butterbox? Bit of a strange name, suits the surrealism of the location.

I love the minimalism of this, Lisa, like looking at the sky again in a cracked mirror. The best photos are those with an emotional connection, and this certainly has it for you. Beautiful work.

I love photos like this one - simple view, almost just one color... But then there are different textures that give substance and different shades of metalic blue are warmed with traces of white, pale pink, light purple and grey...
I have a feeling that if I stare long enough I can see waves swell & thunders start from distant clouds or feel the rain on my face... In the photo everything is still but this is not a calm photo...

Dear Lisa,
This is just simply a very beautiful image. What you captured is more than just landscape but the mood and atmosphere. While it seem like there is not much, but with you masterful composition and good technical quality, there is so much subtle details to admire, enjoy and appreciate. This fit my mood just fine these days.
I'm sorry for my absence. My dad passed away. He had a good life, an interesting one for sure. He has seen so much changes and gone through lots of turmoil and sad time in history. He left China to Vietnam, Cambodia and finalize settled in Laos for years and yet, the Communist has chased him to take us all and escape to Thailand and finally here in the U.S. where he now rested.
I am trying to ease back into normality.

Hi Lisa,
Nicely combined low tide out to sea and the cloudy sky, with the Lee-grey-graduated filter applied a special texture to the whole.
DOF is excelent, as usual.
Have a nice weekend,

Gidday Miss Lisa,
Hey, where's your profile pic young lady, how do I know this is truly your picture, hmmmm?? :) Are you know traveling to other planets for the sake of photography...this is wild!
What a fascinating, almost eery, and completely isolated looking place. I was initially drawn in by the abundance of blue color, but a closer inspection reveals some much subtle "gold." Fantastic effect from so little material, this is a real beauty! The best thing about this however is the personal attachment it has for you, there doesn't need to be much in order to be powerful. Really well done my fellow vulgarian in arms. Have a wonderful afternoon. All the best.
Cheers from cactus country,
ADB
