Photographer's Note
Ahhhh....
Fremantle,
my most favourite place in Western Australia. It's the best place I know so far in Western Australia to spend weekend.
People here call this place 'freo' (read: friyo). And, it has an Australian Football (AFL) club called Fremantle Dockers with its very very very fanatic supporters. These people are so fanatic to their team that they don't really care whether their team is doing well or not in the national league. Well, that's the way I like it.
Freo is full with old buildings, listed as heritage. As you can see in the picture (if I'm not mistaken), some of the buildings are now used for commercial use without changing its original architecture. A touch of European influence in the middle of vast American influence within the way Australians build their cities. That's why this place is the best place to stroll along in a warm summer afternoon.
It's also the best place to enjoy 'raw' art, with many street artists busking along the streets and plazas within the town; a good place to enjoy sometimes-a-good-quality art without spending much money, as we usually do for an expensive full-orchestra concert.
One more very very important thing about this place: it's not Perth! And, it's not part of it. It's a different town. I've been reminded so many times by one of the fanatic residents here. So, bear it in your mind anytime you have the chance to visit this place.
Ciao

Hi Toby !
Nice one, very good sharpness in spite of the low light. It looks very "australian" to my french point of view ; I found in most Australian cities (Adelaide, Hobart, Wollongong...) a kind of "australian way of life", very cool ; cities where it's very nice to walk, have a coffee, live with no stress... I don't know Fremantle but it seems that there is this cool atmosphere there !
In the matter of the POV I think it would have been better to walk a few more footspteps to avoid the roof and chair at foreground and crop a bit of the road. I think there is a tiny tilt as well.
Good one anyway ! :) See u !

Perfect timing for a shot in the blue hour. The perspective view works well to lead the eye down the street. You don't mention a tripod so I assume you have a steady hand :)The clarity and sharpness are exemplary. The exposure is good too. The tiny over-exposed lights do no damage to the overall scene at all. Well done.
