Photographer's Note
This is one of the beautiful beaches of Coral Bay. Less than 20 metres off this shore lies the magnificent Ningaloo Reef running for 260 kilometres along the coast. The word "Ningaloo" is from Wajarri language meaning "promontory", "deepwater", or "high land jutting into the sea". The Yamatji peoples of the Baiyungu and Yinigudura clans have inhabited the area for over 30,000 years.
On the evening I took this photo, I had snorkelled in this area for 6 hours. It was difficult dragging myself away from the breath-taking variety of corals, the giant clams, colourful tropical fish and turtles that I saw during the day. It was even more incredible to think that all those creatures were happily swimming away in that very same place in the dark whilst I was on land.

Ciao cara Lisa,
So this is where you swam with Whale Sharks and other spectacular creatures? Not only is it beautiful underwater but it is also beautiful seen from terra firma as well.
A glorious late evening sky with the setting sun lighting up the distant sky wonderfully and bringing out all those glorious colours, tones and textures in the sky overhead. Lovely reflections off the calm sea but what I really love are the patterns in the foreground sand, beautifully lit and so well defined that I feel I could just reach down and feel that cool wet beach.
A fine bold composition with glorious light and colours, perfect exposure (in very difficult lighting conditions) and exquisite details and sharpness.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Ciao Lisa,
Sublime light for this perfectly exposed image. Excellent composition ideally suited to the vertical format and making good use of the patterns in the wet sand to draw the viewer into the scene. A delicious blend of tones and superb clarity. I wish you an agreeable and peaceful weekend.

Hi Lisa
the overall blue color makes e think it was cold, but it's not true. I like the long perspective od ripple marks on the wet sand beach leading to the lighted horizon.
I would have tried to avoid the dogs and human foot traces.
Cheers

Hello Lisa,
the upright format works ever so well for me with the patterns and textures left by the receding tide making a fine introduction to the beautifully captured scene.
There appears to be a blue cast on my screen,I wonder if this was a result of the long exposure or just the quality of the light.
Happy to report steady improvement from my better half.Hooray.
Kindest wishes Les.

Hello dear Lisa,
I like very much the sense of vastness and how the motion in the sea and the sky contrast the stillness on the shore. The colours are amazing and seem to be shifting even as we're watching and exploring the scene. It's so delightful to follow the perspective and the textures to the edge of the shore and then discover that there's still more space to travel into and more to see. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,
Ourania

Hey Lisa,
Those colors are amazing, this is the kind of sky we can dream of capturing. The blazing burst of golden light set against the rows and rows of clouds washing over looks stunning. The foreground is filled with a totally different eye catcher, the ripples on the sand and the line from the water running back into the sea, which draws the eye to the calm mirror like water. Really calming zen moment and fantastic photo.
Cheers
P.S. Thanks for your comment on my European Crisis photo, I really appreciate it. Hope all is well :)

Hi Lisa
awesome place this must be, and its totally your style of subject too - you must have been in heaven here.
oh the treasures that must await down below that horizon line and into the deep blue sea! I'll never know lol
you know, even if you took out the sky here, there's still alot left in the scene to attract us.
love those ripples and impressions in the wet sand.
very cool indeed.
and the overall blue/grey colors are one of my favorites, its what i want in our home on the walls.
you must be happy with this one!
super shot
see you around

Ciao Lisa,
wow this is spectacular! What I like here is that the final effect works a bit disorientating. The wide foreground at a low perspective emphasized it so well, it is hard to imagine the scale which works perfectly!
Greatly balance exposition at the low light on the beach and bright on the horizon. Amazing sky of course is figuratively and literally the highlight.
Excellent work! So far Western Australia is my favourite region :)

Dear Lisa
One can almost hear the silence and solitude here...
The tones are so peaceful! I loved how the tidal stream creates a good lead-in into the picture, past the ripples and the reflection towards the glorious sky!
Wonderful capture
Best Regards & have a great week

Hi Lisa,
A beautiful beach picture late afternoon. The grazing light brings out the "ripples" and the flow of water through the sand. The long exposure gives a nice effect of movement to the clouds. Did you use a ND filter? I'm wondering if I invest in this type of filter.
Regards,
Delphine
