Photographer's Note
Bradman Avenue is one of the major roads running along the Maroochy River Esplanade. This section of the River in the FG is a canal that has been built artificially, a branch of the main river seen in the more distant section of the photo. Although not at all an inspiring sight by day, this bridge had a distinctive lighting arrangement after dark, the orange street lights casting an interesting hue over the waters below.

Matthew I really like the colors captured here in this setting. I am really drawn to the lighting on the lower right side of the frame. An amazing capture to say the least. Thanks for sharing!

I love the colors, raw Aussie desert soil on the right, the bridge in contrast, I cut the scene vertically before the far shore, eliminating the far bank and tree. It changes the whole direction of light. A bridge to ?? somewhere perhaps. I love it regardless, cheers.

Hi Matt. Well timed in the Blue-hour as some refer to it. The lighting is excellent and the POV interesting. Your skill at getting well coloured reflections shine through this composition. TFS. Murray.

Hello Matt,
This is an awesome image. The colours of the wam lights truly created a special effect on the bridge and sand below. I like the contrast created by the cooler lights under the bridge and the soft texture of the water. One thing that is very effective here is the fact that you didn't include any direct light bulb in the image. A lightbulb of any type would distract the attention from the light reflected on the sand. Great job Matt :-)

Hi Matthew,
Perfect my friend, really wonderful. when i was at your age i only made snapshots, you are miles ahead on me. So when you are at my age you must be at least a pro shooter working would wide. Your skills are high.
A Powershot S3..haha, fantastic..!!! If you got a real DSLR than you work will improve even further. Keep it up, because you have a very good eye in seeing thing. A smile here for the 12.88 seconds which of course doesn't exist but the camera tells you...how funny ;-)
Great exposure here, fantastic light and still uverthing under control...very good work.

Hi Matthew
Superb colour contrasts between the red & blue. A good upward pov, on the subtle diagonal of the bridge, which also adds dynamism. Good sharpness & framing. Tfs!

Hi Matthew,
You captured the illumination very well here, with fine contrast and brightness levels, good sharpness and colors. I like the opposition between the hard lines of the bridge and the soft and smooth texture and color of the water...
Well done

Hi Matthew,
Although the waters would be mostly clear, but the clayish riverbed would give it a brackish which will make the night lighting more effective as seen in this photo. Any occasional crocs ... bit game for the kids to swim with stingrays and sharks around. But this must be also good for baramundi fishing.
I like the way you captured and composed the scene using a slower speed... gave the water a smooth look. It would have been a bonus if there was a car that passed by to add motion to the scene. Resulting colors and image quality is crisp and sharp. Excellent work! tfs and have a nice weekend.
Cheers,
Renier

The striking colors make this shot stand out, Matt, and you have done it nicely in this composition with diagonal of FG waterline at left.
Great use of lighting for this effect, especially long exposure 15s.
You turned an ordinary bridge crossing into a great view, Matt. Well done.

G'day Matt!
One of your best yet! Good low angle to pick up the reflections, and the S3 IS did a great job with the colours, too (I used to have the same camera, but it turned out to be far too small for my hands!).
As for fishing - I've just bought myself a Malibu fishing kayak: great for photography, too!
Cheers,
Jeff

Hi Matt,
I see you've managed to take some lovely shots from your week up north. This one is really nice. The exposure is excellent, bringing out the wonderful tones, reflections colours and lighting, and giving that water that lovely smooth effect. The sharpness is good too. I also like the POV and composition with the bridge pillars giving good depth. Good job! Well captured!

Very pleasing angle of view in this one, Matt.
It makes great use of the artificial bridge lighting, and has a gentle night-time shadowyness about it. The colours are beautiful and the sharpness is superb for the long exposure. That water must have been very still. A very good shot indeed.

Hi Matt, beautiful night shot of this bridge. Very nice control of the light and very excellent sharp detail and colour seen in this one. The composition is simple but very effective. I like the way the bridge angles it's way up through the frame effectively using all of your available space (but not with a cluttered look). Your framing is simple but very effective in this one, giving it kind of a poster look.
Thanks, John

Hi Matthew,
WOW! What a beauty! I will add this to my themes. The colors, exposure are all PERFECT!
I was wondering if you could have included the whole bridge, was there a vantage point for a wide angle view?
Thanks for sharing,
Regards.

This is a brilliant shot. I love the mixture of colours in this picture. It's very surreal. It feels as if it's happening in a dream not in real life.
Well done.
