This is the last posting from my Darling River Run trip. It actually should have been the first as it was taken on the way out.
It introduces another new locality to TE-Neurea where there is not even a village, just this little old battered non-denominational bush church. I do like these little old bush churches because they provide a neat balance to all the grand old churches and temples in Europe and elsewhere that many of you post photos of.
This one was built originally in 1889 but was destroyed in a storm in 1939 and subsequently rebuilt. It is not currently in use but is listed as being "in recess" rather than closed.

Hi Ian
wow, if you gave me 3 choices as to what this little building is, I wouldn't have chosen a church. First, I would have guessed a shed to keep tools and such. Completely opposite to any church I've seen before. but as you say, that's its charm.
I'd love to see an interior shot, even if its through the window. great post for TE. cheers

Hi Ian.
For a small community this tinny church is accordingly suitable in size and the needs.
I guess, the priest or pastor was no a resident of the town, instead he was in and out coming from a bigger city, maybe I am wrong.
Thanks for sharing this image.

Hi Ian
The rusty red roof contrasts well with the blue sky. Good sharpness and the cross out the front is the only clue that this was once a church. Tfs!

Hello Ian,
The small cross reveals this as a church, but I can't make up my mind which architectural style it belongs to. Neo-something...? It seems strange to build a church, however small and simple, in a place where no people are living. But it looks nice and the rusty roof contrasts the green branches well.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Ian
This is a wonderful little discovery - tx for explaining and a really looks very OZ. The sun has come through to highlight the corrugated church with lovely shades & shadows to uplift this shot. Excellent snap

Ian, that old bush church is no longer in use. The metal sheets on the roof are rusty due to the aging and the weather. Such building allows to learn more about the region's history. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Ha! ha! Ian, I love that - in recess, rather than being closed!
The little, battered church does make a most interesting feature and is perfectly placed in your composition! I love how the tree shadows are spreading over it, like a huge spider's web!
I really do understand the comparison made between this and the cathedral that I posted. But, this was built for a particular purpose, with no intention of showing off, or declaring wealth!
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hello Ian
This tiny chapel, barely large enough for the sole confession of the venial sins, looks quite timid in the recessed environment!
Nevertheless you beautifully captured its self-effacement by the rules book with fine details.
Thanks for showing.
Hava g'day!

Hello Ian,
Fascinating these little simple bush churches.
I am always amazed at how man even builds a church in these abandoned places.
Your photo beautifully reflects the atmosphere of the surroundings.
Excellent work
Have a nice weekend,

Hi Ian,
lovely spot. The building adds a nice touch here. The light was great, and the scene feels so full of light. There is a nice play of the light and shadow on the foreground.
Interesting reportage of a great adventure,

Hi Ian,
The trees are framing well the church. The point of view is showing the details of the church. The colours are beautiful. Have a nice day.

Hello Ian,
Not immediately recognizable as a church.
Only the cross above the window on the right gives an indication.
Beautiful presentation with the shadows of the trees on its facade and roof.
Best regards, Paul
