On our recent outback trip we stayed our first night at the Dubbo zoo where most animals are in open ranges. The have very comfortable "glamping" tents to stay in. Included in the stay are escorted walks (was by bus before COVID) to selected animal areas.
In the morning they had us up at 6 o'clock when the sun was just rising and the temperature was minus 4Ί with ice over everything. We went out to feed carrots to these 3 young male giraffes - they have amazing tongues for grabbing the carrots. A good breakfast for us followed.
In the workshop are 2 more photos a cheetah and a gibbon.

Hello Ian,
giraffes are my favourite animals. Look how beautiful they are. Must be a great experience to feed them. But I like all animals, also cheetahs and gibbons. Lovely photos, they look like taken in wild.
Best regards Malgo

Hello Ian,
Three very nice photos. Technically the cheetah is probably the best, but the giraffes are the most charming animals. It must be a great experience to feed them by hand. You wouldn't do that at Serengeti. It's reassuring to know you didn't feed the cheetah by hand.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Ian
A nice trio of giraffes at the well known Dubbo Zoo. I like the patch of sunlight on the giraffe at right. Good sharpness and framing. Tfs!

Ian, excellent pictures taken at the zoo. These African and Asian species are well adaptated to Australian climate. The giraffes are always impressive due to their height. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hello Ian,
What an interesting day you had!
It's really pleasing to learn that these animals were free to wander, as if in the wild. I do understand that we need to keep some wild animals in a sort of captivity to ensure a breeding programme ... so we don't lose them completely.
It is remarkable how close these giraffe seem, when you open them full size!
I suppose these are the easiest animals to capture on a diagonal!!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Ian,
Three beautiful pictures from the Dubbo zoo.
In the main photo you made nice use of the diagonals that form the long necks in the composition.
It also fits beautifully with the message I just heard on the radio about a number of chimpanzees that have escaped from one of the Dutch zoos.
Excellent work
Have a nice day, groet Rob

Hello Ian,
A fantastic view of these giraffes. They look so elegant here and you captured their long necks very well against the blue sky and in front of the trees. Fine morning sidelight too, which create a fine play of light and shadows.

Hi Ian,
The trees are helping to frame the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the giraffes. The light is givng nice tints to the colors. Have a nice day.

Hi Ian,
Three giraffes in one shot - good timing. The low morning light looks good on the giraffe at right. The photo is nice and sharp so we can see plenty of details on the animals.
