Photographer's Note
This photo is the same dancer that I posted on TE about two weeks ago titled "Fluorescent Pow Wow Dancer" which was taken at the annual March Denver Pow Wow at the National Western Complex in Denver, Colorado. The "Fancy Dancers" use highly reflective material which acts the same way with the camera's flash as car headlights do when shining on highway workers' vests at night. I actually had to subdue, not enhance the brilliant colors in PS. The "Traditional Dancers" need to abide to strict clothing rules which are handed down from tribal customs from generation to generation. This TE posting is custom made for TE member Jaap (carper). He critiqued the earlier posting of this gentleman and stated that he would have preferred to have the dancer looking at the camera rather than my previous profile shot. Jaap, this one is for you.

It does make it a different shot with his eye contact. He looks as if he's floating. Almost like underwater. Beautiful.

Wow, Stan! That is quite an ensemble. I like the eye contact, too. The colors are good and the flash worked well here. Those must be amazing to attend. Well done! Regards,
Shelly

The vibrant colours are amazing and they are enhanced beautifully by the dark bg. His dance has made the "tassles" fly and really emphasises the movement.

Hi Stan,
Again the colors are so stunning .. the moment in the dance you have frozen is tremendous here .. the way his feet are weighted is tremendous .. a rare thoughtful and active image.
take care,
John

hello, stan
that's some crazy attire on this dancer :)) he's taking up almost the whole frame, charging straight at you (brought about by the eye contact). with all the colors - really seems as if he's floating in the air. an interesting effect.
warm regards,
kristaps

Hi Stan,
The is a REALLY fancy dancer; the enthusiams on his face and the engergy radiating out of his flying costume makes me smile in empathy with his joy. Well done.
